The Bulldogs play their home games at the Robert
Ewigleben Ice Arena (pronounced AY-VAH-glave-in) on
the campus of Ferris State University.
Since its construction, the facility has been
the site of numerous classic collegiate
hockey battles. In its 26th year of operation,
the arena features an ice surface measuring
85 x 200-feet with a corner radius of 28 feet.
The arena is attached to the
Sports complex and Wink Arena
(home of Bulldog basketball) The building is the central nervous system of all Bulldog
athletics. With a seating capacity of
2,457, the arena features a half size rink for
recreation use, three dressing rooms with direct
access to the ice surface, a multi-purpose
wing, and the Bulldog Room lounge for both
pre-game and post-game activities.
The facility, which is located on the
southwest end of the FSU campus, was expanded with the construction of a 4,560 gross
square-foot Bulldog varsity hockey locker room annex as part of the Arena Remodeling Project.
The centerpiece to the Arena is the expanded, more attractive common lobby area, which is
connected to the newly constructed 2,400 seat Wink Arena. Both facilities together encompass
approximately 42,000 square feet of space.
The lobby features a ticket
office, two concession stands, a pro shop, and a skate rental room. Other
Ewigleben improvements include a renovated locker room facility for the Big
Rapids High School hockey program. The multi-purpose Ewigleben Ice Arena also
serves as a host for numerous university and community events among them figure
skating, trade shows, etc.
