Ferris State University Athletics has announced a partnership with PrestoSports and plans to launch a new website thru the company with an enhanced online presence on Monday, Aug. 3.
Fans can continue to find the FSU Athletics Website at its current address - www.ferris.edu/sports. The new athletics website will include a unique design and a number of innovative features while putting athletics administrators in complete control of the look and content within the site. Some of the distinctive features that will be implemented on the Bulldogs' new online home will include interactive statistics, video clips, rotating feature stories and links to Ferris State's social networking platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.
"We're extremely excited for the possibilities this new website will provide," said FSU Athletics Director Tom Kirinovic. "With the outstanding success our student-athletes have achieved both on the field and in the classroom, this will give us an enhanced marketing tool to help promote that success."
The Aug. 3 launch coincides with the annual Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Football Media Day, which means fans will be able to find post-event coverage of the day's events on the new site, including the league preseason poll, photo gallery and more.
The Bulldogs are the second member of the GLIAC to partner with PrestoSports. Lake Superior State previously launched its website with the company in the summer of 2008. The official GLIAC site is also a part of the PrestoSports Network, which will allow for the implementation of conference standings and more on the FSU site. The company's content-management platform will also provide for more timely updates and information from road contests.
The FSU Athletics Website, which is maintained by the Ferris Athletics Communications Office, has been hosted on-campus since its inception in the mid-1990's. Many of the features on the current website will be carried over to the new site such as a scrolling ticker, webcast buttons and sport links. In addition, various links will be available to find archived content on the previous site.
"We're excited for the opportunity to work with another member of the GLIAC," says PrestoSports COO Patrick B. Summers. "Athletics provides a rallying point for the campus, community, and alumni. Our team is eager to work with Ferris State to enhance its opportunity to reach these audiences through a unique web presence."
Recently, PrestoSports has also announced partnerships with such NCAA Division I schools as Butler, Holy Cross, Northern Arizona, New Hampshire, Harvard and Eastern Washington. Other Division II schools affiliated with the company include Montevallo (Ala.), Texas A&M Commerce, Armstrong Atlantic State (Ga.), Northeastern State (Okla.) and more. Several Division II conferences such as the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC), Lone Star Conference (LMC) and Peach Belt Conference (PBC) are also associated with PrestoSports.
