Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University football team has made an adjustment to Friday's scheduled practice that was slated to be held following the program's annual Media & Photo Day activities at Top Taggart Field.
The late afternoon practice has now been moved to the morning and will be held from 9-11:30 a.m. (ET) with the media and photo day still slated to be held as previously scheduled from 1-3 p.m. (ET).
The change was made due to other events happening on campus as the Bulldog Football program will be assisting with the "Bulldogs In Action" effort from 3-6:30 p.m. (ET) later in the day. As part of the effort, the entire FSU football team will assist incoming students and parents by carrying boxes and other items as they move into Ferris State residence halls for the official start of another school year.
The busy day will begin with a live radio broadcast from the Bulldog Sports Network flagship station, Sunny 97.3 FM, which will air its popular "Radio Caffeine" morning show live from the Wheeler Pavilion from 6-10 a.m. (ET).
Then, after the morning practice and a lunch break, the Bulldogs will hold the Media & Photo Day. It provides an opportunity for local and statewide media outlets to interview various players and staff associated with the 2013 Ferris football team. All media are invited to attend at any time within the two-hour block and/or attend practice.
Regional and statewide media are encouraged to attend the media day event, which will feature the availability of Ferris State football student-athletes and coaches for interviews. The event will be held in conjunction with the squad's individual and team photo shoot with all players in uniform.
Finally, in the evening, the Bulldogs will also hold a team talent show as part of their Friday night team meetings.
Ferris State begins its 105th season of varsity competition by facing a North Dakota State on Sept. 7 at Gate City Bank Field inside the Fargodome at Fargo, N.D. The Bison are the two-time defending Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) National Champions and the preseason number one team in the country. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. (ET) and the contest will be televised live by ESPN3.
The week one test will kickoff an 11-game Bulldog football slate in 2013 that features five home contests at Top Taggart Field and a 10-game GLIAC schedule. FSU will play its home opener the following week on Sept. 14 as the Bulldogs open league action in Big Rapids against the Lake Erie Storm starting at 7 p.m. (ET).
