Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University football program was featured prominently Thursday (Aug. 22) morning as West Michigan sports leader WBBL 107.3 FM in Grand Rapids had an hour-long preview of the Bulldogs during the popular morning show, The Rundown with Doctor & Bentley.
The show, which is hosted by Tim Doctor & former NFL linebacker Ray Bentley each weekday morning, highlighted the Bulldogs' during the 7-8 a.m. hour.
Listeners had an opportunity to hear form Ferris State head coach Tony Annese, assistant coach and Grand Rapids native Sparky McEwen along with FSU Athletics Director Perk Weisenburger. A pair of Bulldog football players from the West Michigan area were also interviewed in senior receiver Jace Heneveld along with linebacker Jake Bentley, who's the son of host Ray Bentley.
The show previewed the Bulldogs' upcoming 2013 campaign and provided an in-depth analysis of the Ferris State football program while also giving fans an opportunity to win tickets for FSU's home opener on Sept. 14.
WBBL is owned and operated by Cumulus Media and Mediaspan. The station regularly covers high school, collegiate and professional sports across the state with featured shows such as The Rundown, the Huge Show, Jim Rome, Dan Patrick and others in addition to live game coverage.
FSU began a successful partnership with WBBL last fall with the debut of "Ferris State Friday's", which included a segment and ticket giveaway each Friday morning during the football and fall sports season. The segment will continue this fall each Friday morning around 7:30 a.m. (ET).
The Rundown with Doctor & Bentley runs daily from 6-9 a.m. (ET) Monday thru Friday and is also accessible online at www.wbbl.com.
