Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University football squad will receive nationwide attention this Saturday (Sept. 23) as the nationally second-ranked Bulldogs square off against the Ashland Eagles as part of the NCAA Division II National TV Showcase live on ESPN3.
The Bulldogs and the Eagles, who are ranked 15th in the D2Football.com National Rankings, will battle under the lights at AU's Jack Miller Stadium with kickoff set for 7 p.m. (ET).
The contest was chosen this summer as one of the D2 "Games Of The Week" and will be streamed online live on ESPN3 along with being available on the Watch ESPN app.
"It's exciting to see our program receive increased nationwide exposure and reflects positively on what we've accomplished here at Ferris State," said FSU head coach Tony Annese. "The GLIAC continues to be one of the top Division II conferences in the country and the opportunity to showcase our program and our conference on this platform is outstanding."
The game is one of two FSU league contests this fall slated for live national television as part of the D2 Showcase along with the Bulldogs' Oct. 21 home matchup against rival Grand Valley State.
This year marks the third consecutive year in which the Bulldogs have participated in the Division II National Showcase. Two years ago, the Bulldogs' home tilt against Michigan Tech was part of the previous D2 national agreement with the American Sports Network while last year's home outing against Ashland was also featured by ASN.
