"Throwback Thursday" - Former All-Time Leading Scorer Roger Vanderlaan

"THROWBACK THURSDAY" - A collection of images of four-time Bulldog Basketball MVP and one of the school's all-time greats Roger Vanderlaan, who finished his Bulldog career with a then school-record 973 points in 1957-58.

The 6-3 Vanderlaan, who was nicknamed "Duke", broke former record holder Clinton Hurdle's previous school mark of 877 total points by scoring 19 points in a win over Alma during the 1957-58 campaign.

The Bulldog standout ended his career with a four-year average of 15.2 points per contest and set a precendence by earning team Most Valuable Player Award honors all four seasons in which he played under head coach Chuck Smith.
