Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's basketball teams return to the hardwood and will ring in the New Year with a pair of Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) home doubleheaders this week at FSU's Jim Wink Arena.

The Bulldogs will open the homestand against the Findlay Oilers on Thursday (Jan. 2) night with a league twinbill at home. The women's game tips off at 6 p.m. (ET) with the men's contest to follow at approximately 8 p.m. (ET).

FSU then hosts the Hillsdale Chargers in GLIAC play on Saturday (Jan. 4) afternoon beginning with the women's game at 1 p.m. (ET) followed by the men's outing at 3 p.m. (ET).

The Ferris State men's basketball squad heads into Thursday's showdown with nationally 12th-ranked Findlay riding a five-game winning streak. The Bulldogs are also off to their best GLIAC start since 2005 and are one of only two remaining unbeaten teams in conference play with a perfect 4-0 mark.

Meanwhile, the women's squad is currently 2-4 on the year and evened its mark at 2-2 in league play with a convincing 79-69 league road win at Tiffin on Dec. 17 prior to the holiday break.

On the men's side, Findlay presently holds a 7-1 overall mark to date this year and is atop the GLIAC South Division with a 3-1 conference record. Hillsdale, which faces the league's only other unbeaten school in Grand Valley State on Thursday prior to vising FSU, enters the week with a 5-3 overall record along with a 1-3 GLIAC slate.

Meanwhile, the Findlay women's team is also near the top in the GLIAC South with a 5-3 overall record in addition to a 2-2 start in league action. Hillsdale heads into Thursday's league tilt at GVSU with a 2-6 record and a 1-3 GLIAC ledger in women's competition.
