Ferris State & SVSU Basketball Doubleheader Rescheduled For Saturday, March 1

Big Rapids, Mich. - A new rescheduled date has been officially announced for the Ferris State University men's and women's basketball home Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) doubleheader against the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals.

The Bulldogs will host SVSU inside FSU's Jim Wink Arena on Saturday, March 1, with the women's game set to begin at 1 p.m. (ET) and the men's contest to follow at 3 p.m. (ET).

The two teams were originally slated to meet for the first time this season last Saturday (Feb. 1), but the contest was postponed due to an incident near the Ferris State campus in Big Rapids. Both schools and the league office agreed upon the new date this week.

The new date will come exactly a month later than the original twinbill was slated to be played and will now represent the Bulldogs' final regular-season contests of the 2013-14 campaign. The final outing of the regular-season was to have been FSU's West Michigan rivalry matchup with Grand Valley State on Thursday, Feb. 27, prior to the addition of the March 1 games.

Ferris State and Saginaw Valley State will meet in University Center before the matchup in Big Rapids as FSU visits O'Neill Arena a week before on Feb. 22.

Both Bulldog basketball teams will play three more GLIAC home tilts before the regular-season finale as FSU hosts Northern Michigan this Saturday (Feb. 8) followed by home doubleheaders against Wayne State (Feb. 20) and GVSU (Feb. 27) on back-to-back Thursday nights.

Saturday's games against Northern Michigan get underway with the women's contest starting at 1 p.m. (ET) and the men's game to follow at 3 p.m. (ET).

Tickets for all home basketball contests can be purchased in advance thru the FSU Athletics Ticket Office located inside the Ewigleben Sports Complex, online at StarTickets.com or by calling (800) 585-3737.
