Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's golf programs will hold open tryouts for the 2018-19 season in early September at FSU's Katke Golf Course.
The tryouts will take place Sept. 1-2.
The total cost is $50 for a 54-hole tryout over Labor Day weekend. Payment can be made at Katke Golf Course in the pro shop on the morning of the first wave of tee times.
There will be a cut after each 18-hole round. The first cut will be determined by the coaching staff, but typically stands at the score of 79 and below. The second cut will be down to the lowest two or three players.
Whoever either wins the tryout or is chosen by the coaching staff as the best candidate will participate in a two-week tryout period with the men's or women's team in order to finalize all necessary details (amateurism, academic eligibility, NCAA ID, etc.).
Players who wish to participate must contact Coach Kyle Wittenbach at email@example.com and submit a physical no older than one-year old to be eligible. The deadline for the physical is August 31 at 5 p.m. (ET).
Tee times for Saturday, Sept. 1 will be released shortly after the deadline.
