Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University Athletics Ticket Office has announced that student season tickets for all 2013-14 Bulldog men's ice hockey home contests are currently on sale.
FSU students are encouraged to purchase their season tickets in advance as soon as possible following a record-breaking showing a year ago in which the Bulldogs officially sold out of all available student season tickets with more than 600 sold. All student season tickets are $85 this season and include an official Dawg Pound student section shirt.
Since the launch of the student season ticket sales campaign early this week, sales have been brisk again with the first four rows in the Dawg Pound already sold. This coming year will enable students to watch the Bulldogs in action for 16 home games at the Ewigleben Ice Arena during their first season of competition in one of the nation's most historic conferences, the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA).
Student season tickets are currently being sold at all university orientation sessions this summer in Williams Auditorium and can also be purchased by calling the FSU Athletics Ticket Office at 231-591-2888 or returning the official student season ticket order form available online (click here).
The FSU Athletics Ticket Office is located inside the Ewigleben Sports Complex and open daily from 9 a.m. (ET) to 5 p.m. (ET) throughout the summer months. Season tickets for all currently enrolled FSU students with a valid student ID card will be available while supplies last.
During the 2012-13 season, the Bulldogs officially sold out five times and drew more than 2,000 fans for each of their last 10 regular-season home contests in the 2,400-seat facility. Overall, FSU has posted 11 total sellouts at the Ewigleben Ice Arena since the second half of a historic 2012-13 campaign in which the Bulldogs reached the national championship game at the NCAA Frozen Four.
The Bulldogs ended the 2012-13 season with a 16-16-5 overall record and placed fifth in their final season of CCHA competition. FSU also earned a first-round bye in the league tournament for the fourth consecutive season, joining Miami (Ohio) as the lone league members to receive a bye in each of the final four years of the CCHA.
This past season's campaign came on the heels of a historic 2011-12 campaign in which Ferris State received its first- ever number one national ranking, won the CCHA regular-season championship, claimed the NCAA Midwest Regional crown and advanced to the Frozen Four for the first time in school history.
Ferris State will officially open the 2013-14 season on the road at Colgate in a non-league series set for Oct. 5-6 in Hamilton, N.Y. The regular-season home opener is set for Friday, Oct. 18, as FSU entertains St. Lawrence in Big Rapids with the squad's first WCHA home series slated for Nov. 8-9 versus Bemidji State.
Season and single-game ticket information for the general public will be announced in the near future.
