Big Rapids, Mich. - Demand is high and tickets are selling fast for the Ferris State University men's ice hockey team's next home series against the Northern Michigan Wildcats on Feb. 7-8 at the Ewigleben Ice Arena in Big Rapids.

Tickets are quickly moving for Friday's (Feb. 7) series' opener against the Wildcats while less than 150 tickets currently remain for the finale on Saturday (Feb. 8). Both Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) contests get underwway starting at 7:07 p.m. (ET).

Ferris State, which is idle this weekened, remains sixth in both of this week's major Division I college hockey polls after posting a 3-0 road triumph over Michigan Tech this past Saturday in Houghton. The NMU series represents the Bulldogs' next scheduled action of the campaign as FSU begins its final 10-game stretch of the regular season.

A very limited number of single-game tickets remain for Saturday's finale with group sales already sold out for the Feb. 8 contest. Currently, tickets remain for Friday's opener in both the single-game and group sales categories with the "Dawg Pound" student section already sold out for both games in what will represent the 44th and 45th consecutive sellouts of the Ferris State student section.

As part of the Saturday night activities, numerous other mascots will also be on hand as one of the students wearing the Bulldog costume will officially retire.

Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance as potential sellout crowds are expected for the Bulldogs' first home games in the month of February. The Bulldogs sold out their last two home outings against Michigan Tech on Jan. 10-11 and FSU has posted 13 sellouts since the second half of the historic 2011-12 season in which FSU reached the Frozen Four and the national championship game.

Ferris State has currently been ranked among the nation's top 20 teams in the United States College Hockey (USCHO) Online Division I poll for 12 consecutive weeks and found among the country's top 10 teams in each of the last nine polls. The Bulldogs have been ranked as high as second nationally three different times this year.

The Bulldogs and Northern Michigan squared off twice earlier this season in Marquette with FSU capturing a 4-1 win in the opening game (Nov. 29) followed by a 1-1 overtime deadlock in the finale (Nov. 30). The two contests were part of a nation-leading and school-record 16-game unbeaten streak for the Bulldogs that stretched from late October to early January. Prior to next week's matchup with the Bulldogs, the Wildcats play a pivotal league home series against Minnesota State this weekend.

Presently, Ferris State holds a 18-6-3 overall record this season and owns a first-place 13-3-2 mark in its debut campaign in the WCHA. The Bulldogs are four points ahead of second-place Minnesota State heading into this week's league action. FSU's 18 wins this year are currently tied for the most in the country.
