Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University Athletics Ticket Office has announced extended hours for this Thursday (March 20) for those FSU students wishing to purchase tickets as a final push continues for this weekend's Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Final Five Championship at Van Andel Arena.
The FSU Ticket Office will remain open until 7 p.m. (ET) on Thursday evening and all students wanting to purchase either the bus package or the $20 ticket thru FSU must do so by that time. Students should be aware that tickets will be at least $5 to $10 more if purchased at Van Andel Arena or elsewhere on Friday.
Less than 40 bus packages for FSU students currently remain for Friday's (March 21) WCHA semifinal game against Alaska Anchorage in Grand Rapids. To date, FSU expects to fill at least four buses full of students who have bought the $20 package, which includes a game ticket, bus ride to Van Andel Arena and a tshirt.
In addition to the bus package, the ticket office is also selling $20 reserved game tickets for students not choosing the bus ride. No phone orders will be accepted and students must show a valid ID card.
Non-students and other Bulldog fans wanting to follow Ferris State to Grand Rapids and buy tickets for the WCHA Final Five Championship can receive a special discount until ONLY noon on Friday by purchasing either online or by phone. They can be bought online at www.VanAndelArena.com/groupsales (type "Bulldogs" into the discount code box) or by calling Van Andel Arena at 616-742-6185 (mention Bulldogs). Processing fees of $3 may apply to online and phone orders.
After Friday at noon, fans can still purchase tickets at the normal gameday rates in person at the Van Andel Box Office, online at Ticketmaster.com, charged by phone at 1.800.745.3000 or at selected Ticketmaster Outlets, including D&W stores along with select Family Fare and Walmart locations in the greater Grand Rapids area.
Top-seeded Ferris State will square off against Alaska Anchorage in the evening semifinal game on Friday at 7:07 p.m. (ET) in Grand Rapids with the winner advancing to Saturday (March 22) night's title game, which is also slated for a 7:07 p.m. start. The first semifinal will pit Minnesota State against Bowling Green at 2:07 p.m. on Friday.
The WCHA Final Five winner receives the Broadmoor Trophy and the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Men's Division 1 Ice Hockey Championship tournament.
