Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's tennis team picked up a key Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) victory over Wayne State in league play at home on Sunday (April 6) at FSU's Racquet and Fitness Center in Big Rapids.
The Bulldogs won their sixth-straight conference match and fourth victory in a row overall this season by topping the Warriors, who had entered the match with only a single loss in league play.
With the win, Ferris State improved to 8-12 overall and 7-2 in GLIAC play. FSU's seven wins are the most in the conference to date and the Bulldogs' overall league winning percentage trails only one-loss Northwood at this point in the conference season.
Ferris State claimed both of the top two doubles positions to grab a 2-1 lead leading into singles competition and the Bulldogs then picked up four of the six singles spots to secure the win.
Junior Laurent Galarneau along with Laurent Mailloux were both double-winners on the day for Ferris State in the league triumph.
Ferris State is back in action next Sunday (April 13) as FSU hosts Lewis (Ill.) in non-conference play at home starting at 10 a.m. (ET). The Bulldogs will then wrap up GLIAC regular-season play against two of the other top teams in the conference in Grand Valley State and Northwood on April 15 and 17, respectively.
