The softball teams from Ferris State University and Lake Superior State University were able to play until the bottom of the fourth inning in this Sunday's (April 3) opening game of a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) doubleheader before mother nature intervened as an accumulation of snow made the varsity softball field at Rockford (Mich.) High School unplayable.
The league doubleheader between the two teams is hopeful of being rescheduled at a later date this April pending approval by the conference office.
Ferris State, which is presently 8-12 overall and 5-3 in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's (GLIAC) North Division this season following Saturday's (April 2) 5-2 and 4-3 conference victories over Lake Superior State at Rockford High School, returns to the diamond this Wednesday (April 6) to take on the Northwood Timberwolves in a pair of GLIAC contests. Opening pitch for game one is at 3:30 p.m. (EDT) with the second game to follow around 5:30 p.m. (EDT) in Midland, Mich.
