Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University softball team's scheduled Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) doubleheader against Lake Superior State has been pushed back a day with a slight adjustment in game times.
The Bulldogs will now host the Lakers on Wednesday (April 3) at the FSU Softball Field in Big Rapids rather than the previously slated date, which was scheduled for Tuesday. The change was made due to the expected weather conditions and to allow for an extra day to aid in the improvement of field conditions as temperatures are expected to be warmer on Wednesday.
In addition, the starting times for both games have also been moved up two hours. The first pitch for game one is slated for 1 p.m. (ET) with the nightcap to follow at approximately 3 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday.
The two games, if played, will mark the Bulldogs' first home action in Big Rapids of the season. FSU's four games against Lake Erie and Walsh this past weekend were moved to Davenport University's new Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex due to the field conditions from winter weather.
Ferris State has currently won its last six outings to date this season and the Bulldogs are presently 13-7 overall and 6-2 in conference play.
Following Wednesday's double dip against LSSU, the Bulldogs will then visit rival Grand Valley State on Saturday (April 6) for an afternoon doubleheader in Allendale.
