Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University softball team's scheduled home non-conference doubleheader versus Lewis (Ill.) scheduled for this Wednesday (March 25) afternoon in Big Rapids has been cancelled.
The cancellation is due to the current field and weather conditions at the FSU Softball Field and further delays the Bulldogs' first home action of the 2014 season. No plans have yet been made in regards to a potential makeup date.
With the cancellation, the Bulldogs are now slated to play what will now be their first Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) games on the road this weekend at Lake Erie on Saturday (March 29) beginning at 1 p.m. (ET) in Painesville, Ohio. FSU then faces Walsh on Sunday (March 30) in Canton, Ohio.
Ferris State currently owns a 5-6 overall record to date this season and is riding a three-game winning streak under first-year head coach Sarah Rotta following the Bulldogs' annual appearance in the Florida Rebel Spring Games played more than a week ago in Winter Haven, Fla.
