Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's soccer team's scheduled non-conference home contest against Northwood on Sunday (Sept. 15) has been cancelled.
The Bulldogs, who are 1-2 overall and coming off an impressive 4-0 home win over Madonna on Friday, will not play the originally slated contest against Northwood, which was scheduled as a non-league match. The two teams will square off against each other later this season on Sept. 27 in Midland.
With the cancellation, the Bulldogs are now scheduled to play their next four contests on the road to close out September starting next Friday (Sept. 20) with a 4:30 p.m. (ET) Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) tilt at Ohio Dominican in the league opener.
FSU's next scheduled home match will not be until Oct. 4 when FSU entertains Walsh beginning at 4 p.m. (ET) at the Ferris State Soccer Field.
Ferris State was scheduled to play Sunday's match to help aid an important cause by holding a charity game to raise money for They Often Cry Outreach (TOCO). Those who still wish to donate or contribute should contact head coach Andy McCaslin via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
As part of the effort associated with the TOCO, the Bulldogs will be collecting new or gently used soccer equipment, athletic apparel and shoes, which will be distributed by TOCO to needy children in the Caribbean.
