Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team has officially earned a berth and will open play in the 2013 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament on Friday (Oct. 25) evening in Midland, Mich.
The three-day event runs thru Sunday (Oct. 27) and will take place at the Midland Community Tennis Center.
FSU will be the eighth overall seed in the eight-team field and face top-seeded Northwood in the first round on Friday night at 6:45 p.m. (ET).
The second round of the tournament will be on Saturday (Oct. 26) at 3:45 p.m. (ET) with the final round of play set for Sunday (Oct. 27) starting at 8:30 a.m. (ET).
Northwood holds down the top seed heading into the tournament with Wayne State listed second and Tiffin third.
Ferris State wrapped up regular-season play with a 7-7 overall mark while placing tied for seventh in conference action with a 7-7 league slate as well. The Bulldogs dropped a 9-0 decision to Northwood earlier this season (Sept. 17) in regular-season play at Midland.
Last season, the Bulldogs upset fourth-seeded Ashland in the opening round before falling Northwood in semifinal action and eventually placing fourth overall.
Northwood presently is unbeaten at 14-0 overall this fall going into the GLIAC Tournament.
