42nd Annual Ferris State Football Golf Outing Proves To Be Major Success Again
Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University's 42nd annual Football Golf Outing, which took place this past Saturday (June 22) at Clear Lake Golf Club near Big Rapids, again proved to be a major success with yet another sellout crowd on hand.
The four-person shotgun scramble, which is sponsored by the FSU Gridiron Club in conjunction with the Bulldog Athletic Association (BAA), serves as one of the Ferris State football program's primary fundraising events.
The Bulldog Football golf outing returned to Clear Lake for the 11th-straight year and continued to produce a strong turnout with a full course. The event has helped create momentum for FSU's nation-leading nine consecutive NCAA postseason playoff appearances.
This year's event includes pregame speeches from FSU President Dr. Bill Pink, Athletics Director Steve Brockelbank and head coach Tony Annese before the round of golf, which was played under drizzly and rainy conditions for parts of the day. Ferris State also welcomed back former head coaches Keith Otterbein and Jeff Pierce, who combined with Annese, represented 38 consecutive years of Bulldog head coaches on hand. An event cocktail hour and dinner along with an awards ceremony followed by the day's round.
