20th Annual Ferris State Men's Basketball Golf Outing Set For July 19

Big Rapids, Mich. - Registration is currently underway and spots are expected to fill up fast for The Stephen Scholler Wells Fargo Advisors Men's Basketball Golf Outing presented by Conlan Tire that will be held Wednesday, July 19, at Ferris State University's Katke Golf Course.
All Bulldog fans and friends are invited to take part in the four-person scramble, which serves as one of the men's basketball program's primary fundraising events. This year will represent the 20th annual event. The 18-hole outing will begin with registration at 8:30 a.m., and a 9:45 a.m. rules meeting followed by a 10 a.m. shotgun start.
More than 100 golfers have took part in the event each of the last 10 years as the annual outing continues to grow, including nearly 150 golfers per year over the past seven years.
"This outing has propelled us to the NCAA Tournament seven of the past nine seasons and we look forward to seeing everyone at this golf outing," said FSU head coach Andy Bronkema. "The support we generate from this event is a huge boost to our program and our student-athletes trying to maintain and build on our championship success."
The entry fee, which is $110 per person or $440 a team, includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, a postgame luncheon at Buffalo Wild Wings following play, raffle, silent auction and many other activities throughout the round. A great package of team and individual prizes will also be awarded. In addition, members of the Bulldog men's basketball program and various FSU Athletics Department staff will be on hand throughout the day.
Business and individual sponsorships are also available, including tee sponsorships ($125) or a corporate package that includes a foursome and a tee sponsorship for $500. All proceeds from the outing support the men's basketball program.

Ferris State's Katke Golf Course ranks among the finest University-owned golf courses in the United States. The course covers over 6,847 yards and is the highest point in Mecosta County, helping to define the scenic West Michigan landscape. Katke has won the Mecosta Country Peoples' Choice Awards for favorite golf range and favorite golf course in the area in recent years.
Designed by Robert Beard, Katke Golf Course opened for public play in 1974. The golf course has undergone some major renovations since 2004. Katke is a true test for any caliber of player.
Ferris State finished this past season with a 24-9 overall mark. The Bulldogs also advanced to the NCAA Midwest Regional Semifinals, which was the program's second-straight and fifth trip to the second round since 2016. Overall, the Bulldogs made their 16th all-time NCAA Division II Tournament appearance.
