SOLD OUT! This Week's Ferris State Men's Basketball Golf Outing Officially Sold Out!
Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University has announced this Wednesday's (July 24) The Scholler Private Wealth Group of Wells Fargo Advisors Men's Basketball Golf Outing slated to take place at FSU's Katke Golf Course in Big Rapids is officially sold out.
The four-person scramble, which serves as one of the men's basketball program's primary fundraising events, will take place for the 21st time this year. The 18-hole outing will begin with registration at 8:30 a.m., and a 9:45 a.m. rules meeting followed by a 10 a.m. shotgun start.
More than 100 golfers have took part in the event each of the last 11 years and the annual outing has continued to grow, including nearly 150 golfers per year over the past nine years.
"This outing has propelled us to the NCAA Tournament eight of the past 10 seasons and we look forward to seeing everyone at this golf outing," said FSU head coach Andy Bronkema. "The support we generate from this event is a huge boost to our program and our student-athletes trying to maintain and build on our championship success.
"This event has become a planned day off and a mid-week tradition," he added. "The participation from everyone involved last year propelled us to a historic season with 28 wins, the GLIAC Tournament Championship and an NCAA Regional Championship. We look forward to all those slated to participate again this year and assist us in our efforts to return back to the D2 Elite Eight."

Ferris State's Katke Golf Course ranks among the finest University-owned golf courses in the United States. The course covers over 6,847 yards and is the highest point in Mecosta County, helping to define the scenic West Michigan landscape. Katke has won the Mecosta Country Peoples' Choice Awards for favorite golf range and favorite golf course in the area in recent years.
Designed by Robert Beard, Katke Golf Course opened for public play in 1974. The golf course has undergone some major renovations since 2004. Katke is a true test for any caliber of player.
Ferris State won both the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament Championship and the NCAA Division II Midwest Regional title this past season, closing the year with a 28-8 overall record while notching a share of the second-most wins in program history. The Bulldogs made their first trip to the D2 Elite Eight in six years with the last coming in 2018 when FSU captured its first NCAA D2 National Championship. This past year's appearance in the Elite Eight was the Bulldogs' third overall in program history.
