Ferris State To Make 12th Consecutive GLIAC Men's Basketball Tourney Appearance

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's basketball squad has earned a berth in the 2026 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament and will square off against top-seeded Northern Michigan on Wednesday (March 4) night in Marquette.
The Bulldogs, who drew the eighth seed, will take on the Wildcats for the third time this year in the quarterfinal-round game at Vandament Arena on the NMU campus. The contest is slated for a 7:30 p.m. (ET) start.
Tickets for the game are available online at tickets.nmu.edu. Fans may also purchase tickets in person at the Superior Dome Ticket Office or by phone at 906-227-1032 during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Prices are $14 for general public reserved seats, $10 for general admission or $2 for students with a valid ID card. Children under age five are free.
There will be no local radio coverage of the game due to FSU women's basketball at home, but the game will be streamed live via pay-per-view by FloCollege and live internet statistics will be provided. Northern Michigan shared the league regular-season crown with Michigan Tech and won the tiebreaker for the league's top seed. NMU enters the game with a 25-5 overall record while FSU is 10-17 on the year and won a tiebreaker over Saginaw Valley State for the eighth and final spot in the field with a 7-13 league mark.
NMU won both regular-season matchups against the Bulldogs by scores of 95-66 on Jan. 12 in Marquette and 75-53 on Feb. 21 in Big Rapids.
Four quarterfinal-round games will be played on Wednesday with the winners advancing to the GLIAC Tournament Semifinals and Finals on Saturday and Sunday, March 7-8, at the site of the highest remaining seed.
The other GLIAC quarterfinal-round games include Michigan Tech (#2) hosting Davenport (#7) along with Grand Valley State (#3) entertaining Wayne State (#6) and finally Lake Superior State (#4) playing host to Purdue Northwest (#5).
The winner of the GLIAC Tournament receives an automatic bid into the respective NCAA Division II Midwest Regional Tournament slated to be held March 14-17 at a campus site yet to be determined.
This year will represent FSU's 26th overall GLIAC Tournament appearance in men's basketball. FSU is 27-22 all-time in league tourney action. The Bulldogs have captured six league tourney titles in program history, including 1997-98 along with 2015-18 in addition to 2023-24. FSU will be making its 12th-straight GLIAC Tournament appearance this year.
