Ferris State Men's Golf Second Overall After Day One At Bulldog Fall Classic
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team opened the 2024-25 campaign at home on Monday (Sept. 16), hosting day one competition at the Bulldog Fall Classic in Big Rapids at Katke Golf Course.
The Bulldogs currently sit second overall after the first two rounds of action and are only a single stroke out of first place heading into the final round of the 54-hole event. FSU shot a one-over 285 total in the first round and a 10-over par 294 in round two for a 579 total.
Ferris State trails leader Gannon (578) by a single stroke going into round three. Rockhurst (Mo.) sits third (583) while Parkside and Davenport are tied for fourth place overall with 586 figures in the 10-team field.
Presently, the Bulldogs' McCoy Biagioli is tied for first on the individual leaderboard with Gannon's Mattia Parrini and Peter Blazevic of Parkside as all three carded one-under totals thru two rounds. Biagioli finished with a one-under 70 score in round one and shot even par 71 in the second round.
FSU's Shayne Beaufait is currently two-over par and is tied for eighth in the field. He shot a 71 in round one and a 73 in the second round for a 144 total.
The Bulldogs' Kole Putnam is presently tied for 11th going into round three, notching a 72 in the first round and a 73 in the second round for a three-over 145 score.
Meanwhile, Drayton Cleaver finished with a 146 and is tied for 16th overall as he shot a one-under 70 in the first round before recording a 76 in round two.
Ferris State's Sam Havey is tied for 25th on the leaderboard at 147 overall thru two rounds. Havey posted scores of 73 in round one and 74 in round two.
Also, Bulldog newcomer Alex Kaems finished with a 154 score on Monday with rounds of 78 and 76 for a share of 47th in the field.
The Bulldogs' Zach Koerner competed as an individual and sits tied for 31st overall with a 149 score. He posted marks of 76 and 73 in rounds one and two, respectively.
Finally, Will Heavisides also played individually and notched a 167 score on rounds of 84 and 83 for 63rd overall entering the final round.
Final round play takes place on Tuesday (Sept. 17) beginning at 9 a.m. (ET) at Katke Golf Course.
