Bulldog Men's Golf Closes Fall Season With Fifth-Place Team Finish

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf team closed out the fall season with a fifth-place overall team finish at the Bill Crabtree Invitational, which wrapped up on Tuesday (Oct. 29) in Owensboro, Ky.

The Bulldogs carded a two-day 585 team figure in the event, shooting a 291 in round one and a 294 in the second round of action. FSU, which is ranked 26th nationally, finished in the top five of the 14-team tournament, which also included two other nationally-ranked squads.

The event was won by 22nd-ranked Missouri S&T with a 558 total while 13th-ranked Gannon took second place (568). Meanwhile, McKendree came in third (578) with Southern Indiana fourth (584) in front of FSU.

FSU was led by Sam Havey, who shared 14th place overall with a score of 143 for the two rounds of action. He notched a 70 in round one followed by a 73 in the second round.

The Bulldogs' Zach Koerner came in tied for 21st with a two-round 146 total, carding a 74 in the first round and a 72 in round two.

Additionally, Ferris State's Kole Putnam tied for 29th on the leaderboard with a 149 stroke total on rounds of 77 Monday and 72 on Tuesday.

FSU's Alex Kaems carded a 152 figure and placed tied for 38th in the field. He shot a 74 in the first round and a 78 in the second round.

The Bulldogs' McCoy Biagioli wound up tied for 38th as well at 152 overall. Biagioli shot a 78 in the opening round and came back with a 74 over the final 18 holes of play.

Finally, Drayton Cleaver finished tied for 52nd with a 155 score, notching a 73 in round one before closing with a score of 82 in the second round of action.

The event wrapped up the fall slate for the Bulldogs, who will resume the spring season in March.
