Ferris State Men's Golf Ties For Second Overall At Ken Partridge Invitational

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's golf squad finished tied for second overall in the Ken Partridge Invitational held this week (April 5-6) in Noblesville, Ind.

The Bulldogs shot a three-round total of 882 and placed tied for second with Rockhurst (Mo.) in the event held at The Purgatory Golf Club. The event was hosted by the University of Indianapolis with Grand Valley State finishing first at 863 for the 54 holes of play.

FSU shot a 298 team score in the first round before firing a 285 in round two and a 299 figure in the final round.

Individually, Zach Spencer tied for seventh place overall in leading Ferris State, carding a +3 score of 219 for the three rounds. He shot a 71 in round one before back-to-back 74 scores in each of the final two rounds.

The Bulldogs' Ethan Frost and Kole Putnam both tied for 20th in the field at 223 overall. Frost notched scores of 79, 71 and 73 over the three rounds while Putnam shot scores of 73, 74 and 76.

Ferris State's Ben Miller and Sam Havey also finished tied for 32nd overall at 225 for the tourney. Miller shot a 79 in the first round along with a 70 in round two and a 76 in the last round. Meanwhile, Havey carded a 77 in the opening round before a 70 in the middle round and a 78 in the final round.

Finally, Alex Kaems netted a 232 total and tied for 73rd on the leaderboard. He began with a 77 in the first round and shot a 76 in round two along with a 79 in the third round.

The Bulldogs will compete in the GLIAC Championships April 15-17 in Augusta, Mich.
