Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's golf teams, which both reached NCAA postseason action this year, combined for three major awards and had a total of xx student-athletes chosen to receive all-conference honors for the 2025-26 campaign as announced by the league office.

The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) unveiled its postseason all-conference squads and FSU head coach Sam Stark was chosen as the women's Coach of the Year.

Meanwhile, senior standout Kamryn Shannon (Jackson/Michigan Center) earned the 2026 GLIAC Women's Golf Player of the Year honor while Ethan Frost (Barrie, Ontario) was tabbed as the Men's Freshman of the Year.

The women's team had a total of five student-athletes garner all-league recognition with both Shannon and fellow senior Lizzie Anderson (Lockport, Ill.) named to the All-GLIAC First Team. FSU's Ashley Thomasma (Grandville/GR South Christian) and Kylie Walker (Kenosha, Wis.) were second team all-conference selections while Taylor Musselman (Coldwater) was an honorable mention all-league honoree.

On the men's side, FSU's Kole Putnam (Gaylord) was tabbed as an All-GLIAC Second Team selection while both Ben Miller (Paw Paw) and Ethan Frost were chosen as honorable mention all-conference honorees.

Stark guided the Bulldog women to the 2026 GLIAC Championship and a trip to the NCAA Division II National Championships for the second consecutive year. This season, the Bulldogs also took third place at the NCAA D2 East Regional Championships. Ferris State reached the NCAA Tourney for the fifth-straight year under his direction. FSU finished among the top five teams in 10 different tournaments this year, including winning the head-to-head championship in the GLIAC for the second time in the last four years following a second-place stroke play finish at the event.

Shannon capped off a stellar career by leading the Bulldogs to the NCAA Division II National Championships for the second consecutive year and the 2026 GLIAC Championship. She earned medalist honors at the league championships and went on to place tied for 14th overall at the NCAA D2 East Regional Championships, helping the Bulldogs earn a trip to nationals with a third-place team finish. This year, she claimed All-GLIAC First Team honors for the third year in a row and became a four-time all-conference choice. She also was tabbed as the GLIAC Player of the Week three times this season.

Finally, Frost had a big rookie campaign for the Bulldogs, helping FSU to the NCAA Division II Regional Championships on the men's side. Frost placed among the top 50 golfers at the regional event held on FSU's own Katke Golf Course as the Bulldogs placed tied for fifth overall and were only a stroke away from advancing to the D2 National Championships. He also helped Ferris State to a third-place performance at the GLIAC Championships while placing tied for 13th individually with a 214 score for the three rounds of action. This year, Frost finished among the top 50 golfers in 10 tournaments, including four top-20 efforts.
