Ferris State Tennis Squads Beat Spring Arbor To Open Up Weekend Homestand
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's tennis squads opened up weekend action with a sweep on Friday (Feb. 6) as both teams topped Spring Arbor in non-league play at the FSU Racquet and Fitness Center.
The two outings marked the first regular-season home action of the spring for both Ferris State squads.
The Bulldog women started the day with a 6-1 win over the Cougars before the men came back to register a 7-0 shutout.
In the women's outing, the Bulldogs took the doubles point and claimed wins in five of the six singles flights with all coming in straight-sets. Spring Arbor's lone win came at six singles.
Meanwhile, the Ferris State men's team took the doubles round and then swept all six singles contests for the win.
Both Bulldog teams will continue weekend action at home on Saturday (Feb. 7), hosting Findlay in regional play. The women's match is slated for a 10 a.m. (ET) start followed by the men's match at 2 p.m. (ET).
