Ferris State Tennis Squads Pick Up Non-League Split Against Augustana In Florida

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's tennis teams picked up a split on Tuesday (March 10) in a neutral site matchup against Augustana (S.D.) at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.

The Bulldogs fell by a 4-3 score in the women's match, but recorded a 7-0 sweep in the men's competition in the Sunshine State.

In the men's match, the Bulldogs swept the three doubles flights for the initial point of the match. FSU then captured all six singles positions with five decided in straight-sets.

The Bulldog men's squad improved to 9-2 overall this year with the triumph.

In the women's match, the Vikings came away with the doubles point. Ferris State rallied to split the six singles flights, but could not come away with the win. FSU got wins at one, four and six singles.

The women dropped to 6-4 overall this year with the setback.

Both teams are back in action on Wednesday (March 11) as they continue their annual spring break trips to Florida with a twin bill at Embry-Riddle starting at 2 p.m. (ET).
