Ferris State Tennis Squads Open GLIAC Tourney Play In Semifinals On Friday

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's tennis squads have both earned first-round byes and will open action in the 2026 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament with semifinal matches on Friday (April 24) in Midland.

All matches will take place at the Greater Midland Tennis Center.

The Bulldog men's team, which captured the 2026 GLIAC Regular Season Championship, is the top seed and will square off against either fourth-seeded Purdue Northwest or fifth-seeded Davenport on Friday in the second round at 4 p.m. (ET).

The other semifinal will pit second-seeded Grand Valley State versus the winner of the opening round match between third-seeded Wayne State and sixth-seeded Roosevelt. The championship match is slated for Saturday (April 25) at 3 p.m. (ET).

On the women's side, Ferris State is the number two seed for the league tournament and also earned a bye in the opening round. FSU will take on either third-seeded Davenport or sixth-seeded Saginaw Valley State in round two on Friday at 11 a.m. (ET). The other side of the bracket features top-seeded GVSU against either fourth-seeded Wayne State or fifth-seeded Michigan Tech. The women's title match is on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. (ET) if played outdoors or 4 p.m. (ET) inside.

The Bulldog men's team currently owns a 15-3 overall record to date this year and went unbeaten at 6-0 in league regular season play. Meanwhile, the women's squad is 12-6 to date and finished with a 6-1 conference record.

The winner of both the GLIAC men's and women's tournaments receives an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament. Both Ferris State teams are currently ranked near the top of the region with the men listed second in this week's regional rankings and the women third overall in the Midwest Region.
