Ferris State Track Squads Complete Action At GVSU Bill Clinger Classic
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's indoor track and field squads competed on Friday (Jan. 23) at the Bill Clinger Classic hosted by Grand Valley State at the Laker Turf Building in Allendale.
Alexis Le placed 11th in the high jump (5-1.75) while Maddy Biller claimed 12th place in the weight throw (44-4.75). Biller was also 21st in the shot put (33-6) and Raquel Hernandez finished 24th in the weight throw (38-2.25).
Ella Kowatch was 21st in the 800 meters (2:24.51) and Taylor Huntoon came in 24th (2:25.03). Abigail Robinson was also 21st in the 600 meters (1:49.42).
The Bulldogs came in 15th in the women's 4x400-mete relay (4:18.24) with the group of Oliviah Malloy, Breanna Campbell, Grace Bullock and Jocelyn Shattuck competing.
In the men's competition, Ferris State's Hunter Richardson won the shot put (49-6.5). Additonally, Devin Dennison was sixth in the weight throw (63-11.5) and met the NCAA Division II National Provisional Qualifying standard.
Brady Zarb finished seventh in the shot put (44-11.5) and Lucas Sidlauskas was 19th (42-4). Zarb also came in 10th in the weight throw (46-9.5) with Sidlauskas 13th (45-4.5) and Jack Romel 21st (41-4.25).
FSU's Josh Langland placed sixth in the 600 meters (1:22.27). Lucas Seifferlein came in 12th in the 400 meters (50.18). Meanwhile, Trevor Smith placed 15th in the 200 meters (22.31) while Blace Farrington was 19th (22.55). Chasea Segaar wound up 22nd in the 400 meters (51.14).
Jared Watchorn finished 14th in the 800 meters (1:55.71) with Andrew Shafley 16th (1:57.20). Aaron Pierce was 20th in the high jump (20-5.75).
The Bulldogs' 4x400-meter relay team of Langland, Segaar, Luke Berney and Seifferlein took third place (3:23.19).
Ferris State will next compete in the Jet's Pizza Invite hosted by Saginaw Valley State on Jan. 30-31 in University Center, Mich.
