Bulldog Track Squads Conclude Action At MSU Spartan Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's outdoor track and field squads competed on Friday (April 3) at the Michigan State Spartan Invite in East Lansing.

The Bulldogs' Whitney Farrell earned runner-up honors in the 5,000 meters (17:42.44).

Meanwhile, Jocelyn Shattuck placed fourth in the open section of the 800 meters (2:31.05) with Emma Berglund fifth (2:33.71).

Angela Kotecki was eighth in the 100 meters (13.20) while Darnesha Fraley took eighth in the 200 meters (26.08). Bradey Harmelink was eighth in the 1,500 meters (5:25.93) open section.

FSU's Lizzie Haines placed sixth in the 400 hurdles (1:07.31) and was also eighth in the 100 hurdles (15.80). Kotecki placed sixth in the long jump (16-11.5).

The Bulldogs were also fourth in the 4x400-meter relay as the group of Fraley along with Oliviah Malloy, Abigail Robinson and Jocelyn Shattuck was clocked in 4:15.00.

Ferris State's Lucas Seifferlein was the runner-up in the 400 meters (49.34) and Ben Knuth came in fourth in the 5,000 meters (15:13.09).

FSU's Trevor Smith placed fifth in the 200 meters (22.12) and was sixth in the 100 meters (11.08).

Carson Guysi placed sixth in the long jump (20-10.75), Josh Langland took sixth place in the 400 meters (50.05) and Jose Flores was seventh in the 1,500 meters (4:25.61). Ryan Ososki came in eighth in the 5,000 meters (15:29.16).

Ferris State will be back in action on Saturday, April 11, at the Central Michigan Chippewa Challenge in Mt. Pleasant.
