Ferris State Men Finish Sixth, Women Eighth At GLIAC Outdoor Championships

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University men's and women's outdoor track and field teams wrapped up action on Friday (May 1) at the 2026 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Championships in Allendale.

The Bulldogs placed sixth overall in the men's team standings with 52 total points while the women were eighth with 10 points in the two-day league event.

Freshman Trevor Smith took second place in the 100 meters (10.51) and was fourth in the 200 meters (21.25). For his efforts, Smith also landed one of the GLIAC's major awards as he was named the Freshman Track Athlete of the Meet.

The Bulldogs' Hunter Richardson took fourth place in the discus (153-11) and wound up sixth in the hammer throw (148-4) and the shot put (48-2). Hayden Gould claimed fifth place in the 3,000 steeplechase (9:46.36) and Jack Romel wound up fifth in the javelin (155-6) with Brady Zarb sixth in the discus (138-0) and seventh in the hammer throw (145-7).

Ferris State's Chase Segaar took seventh place in the 400 meters (49.27) while Blaine Rogers was eighth in the 110 hurdles (14.89). Ben Knuth finished eighth in the 5,000 meters (15:06.64) and was also eighth in the 10,000 meters (30:58.91).

Carson Guysi came in ninth in the 100 meters (10.75) and Emmett Johnson was ninth in the 10,000 meters (31:14.96). Aaron Pierce finished ninth in the long jump (21-8.25).

The Bulldog men's team also placed third in the 4x400-meter relay (3:15.18) and were fifth in the 4x100-meter relay (41.53). Segaar, Josh Langland, Luke Berney and Lucas Seifferlein raced on the 4x400 team while the 4x100 relay featured Blaine Rogers, Guysi, Michael Floriano and Smith.

FSU's Whitney Farrell placed third overall in the 3,000 steeplechase (10:33.43), setting a NCAA D2 National Provisional qualifying time.

Sadie Larson came in sixth in the 100 hurdles (14.51) and Raquel Hernandez was eighth in the discus (117-1). Lacey Zimmerman finished ninth overall in the 200 meters (25.74) and Angela Kotecki came in ninth in the long jump (17-3.5).

The Bulldogs were also ninth in the women's 4x400-meter relay (4:06.18).
