FSU's Alexis Kozlowski Claims GLIAC Player Of Week Softball Honors
Big Rapids, Mich. - Junior first baseman Alexis Kozlowski (Gaylord) of the Ferris State University softball squad has been chosen as this week's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Player of the Week.
Kozlowski led the Bulldogs to six wins this past weekend, hitting a team-high .611 overall with 11 hits, 15 RBI's and nine runs scored in 18 official at-bats.
The Bulldog junior helped the Bulldogs close regular-season play with an impressive 11-game winning streak as FSU swept Davenport in four games and beat Purdue Northwest on Sunday to close out the regular season.
Kozlowski also drew three walks and had a home run, a triple and five doubles in the six games. She recorded a 1.167 slugging figure and a .636 on-base figure. Overall, she had two hits or more in the last five games of the weekend and produced multiple RBI's in five of six games overall.
The Bulldogs, who are 35-18 overall this year, earned the number two seed for the GLIAC Tournament this weekend in Crown Point, Ind. FSU received a day one bye and will open competition in the double-elimination event on Friday, May 8, starting at 2:30 p.m. (ET).
