Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's basketball squad got off to a slow start and fell 76-61 to Hillsdale in non-league action on Wednesday (Dec. 18) evening in Hillsdale, Mich.
The host Chargers took a 12-11 lead after the opening period of action and led by nine points at halftime in coming away with the win.
Hillsdale shot 44.4% from the floor and made nine-of-25 (36.0%) three's along with 11-of-16 free throws overall.
A trio fo Bulldog starters reached double figure scoring in the setback. Senior guard Elle Irwin tallied 14 points while junior guard Kadyn Blanchard added 13 points as did junior Mia Riley.
FSU was limited to 30.9% shooting for the day and the Bulldogs produced 44.4% of their field goals long with nine-of-25 (37%) three's along with 11-of-16 (68.6%) free throws.
Ferris State will be back in action on Friday, Dec. 20, at home versus Illinois-Springfield starting at 3 p.m. (ET).
