Ferris State Women's Golf Opens Season In Sixth Place After Day One At Midwest Collegiate Event

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team started off the fall campaign on Monday (Sept. 9) at the Midwest Collegiate Championships and presently sits sixth overall in the field after the opening two rounds of action.

FSU finished +25 in round one and +23 in round two for a +48 total following 36 holes of competition in the 54-hole event. The final round takes place on Tuesday (Sept. 10) in Peru, Ind.

A total of 16 teams and more than 90 golfers are competing in the two-day event. Findlay holds the team lead after two rounds with a +5 total and is followed by Central Missouri (+24) and Missouri-St. Louis (+27) in the top three overall.

Individually, the Bulldogs' Kamryn Shannon sits ninth overall thur two rounds with a five-over par total. She shot even par in round two.

Meanwhile, FSU's Lizzie Anderson is at +9 following the opening two rounds and is 18th on the leaderboard while newcomer Kylie Walker posted back-to-back +7 figures and is 35th in the field.

The Bulldogs' Ashley Thomasma presently is 51st overall with a +20 total and Hallie Crozier notched a +21 figure in the first two rounds and is 55th.

The Bulldogs' Lauren Kempf competed as an individual and is 48th overall, sitting at +19 for the event. Paige Anderson also is competing individually and is tied for 55th at +21 overall.

The final round of action begins on Tuesday (Sept. 10) at 9 a.m.
