Bulldog Women's Golf Fourth After Day One At Warrior Invite
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team currently sits fourth overall after the opening round of the Warrior Invitational hosted by Wayne State University on Monday (Sept. 22) at Orchards Golf Club in Washington, Mich.
The Bulldogs finished the first day with back-to-back scores of 307 in both the first and second round, closing the day with a 614 team figure. Grand Valley State holds the team lead after 36 holes (587) with Findlay second (593) and Davenport third (610) in front of FSU in the 13-team field.
Ferris State was paced by senior Kamryn Shannon, who is third overall with a one-over par total of 145 after the first two rounds. She shot an even-par 72 in round one and a 73 in round two.
FSU's Lizzie Anderson is tied for 17th in the field at 154 overall, notching a 76 in the first round and a 78 in the second round.
Meanwhile, Kylie Walker concluded day one in a tie for 27th place at 158 overall as she shot a 84 in the first round before firing a 74 in round two.
Both Ashley Thomasma and Taylor Musselman are tied for 38th individually. Thomasma carded a 78 in the first round before coming back with a 85 in the second round. Musselman notched an 81 followed by an 82 in the first and second round, respectively.
Also, FSU's Isabel Kelly competed as an individual and is tied for 55th with a 172 score. She shot an 84 in round one and an 88 in round two.
Final round play is set for Tuesday in the 54-hole event.
