Ferris State Women's Golf Starts In Second Place After Day One At Bulldog Fall Classic

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team started strong on Saturday (Sept. 27) as the Bulldogs sit second overall following round one play of their own Bulldog Fall Classic being held at FSU's Katke Golf Course.
FSU carded a 300 team score in the opening round of the 36-hole event and is only two shots behind day one leader Grand Valley State, which fired a 298 team score. A total of 13 schools from across the region are competing in the two-day event.
Senior Kamryn Shannon led the Bulldogs with an even-par 72 in round one and is third in the field, trailing only individual leaders Lea Stotz of GVSU and Alexandria LeCureaux of Gannon, who both carded two-under scores of 70 in round one.
The Bulldogs' Taylor Musselman shota 74 and is tied for fifth in the field while both Ashley Thomasma and Lizzie Anderson notched scores of 77 and are tied for eighth overall. Meanwhile, Kylie Walker posted a score of 81 in the first round and is tied for 34th.
FSU's Isabel Kelly competed as an individual and shot a 79 for a share of 24th place in the opening round. Morgan Seog also competed as an individual and is tied for 34th with a 81 in round one while Paige Anderson is tied for 44th with an 82 as an individual. Katelyn Walker also took part individually and shot an 89 for 72nd overall to date.
Final round play will take place on Sunday (Sept. 28) at Katke Golf Course.
