FSU Women's Golf Finishes Fifth In Findlay As Shannon Earns Medalist Honors
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team came in fifth overall and had the individual medalist as play concluded at the Beall Fall Classic on Tuesday (Oct. 7) at the Findlay Country Club in Ohio.
The Bulldogs shot a three-round 925 team figure while notching rounds of 308, 316 and 301 overall in the field of 17 teams.
FSU senior Kamryn Shannon finished as the individual medalist in the event at two-over par for the 54 holes of play. She shot a 72 in round one, a 70 in round two and a 76 in round three while tying for first place overall with Findaly's Ashleigh Duflo. Shannon then won a six-hole playoff for medalist honors to garner the tournament win.
In the playoff, both players made par on each of the first five holes of play. On the sixth hole, which was hole #8 on the course, Shannon got up and down from just short of the green for par and Duflo three-putted from 30 feet. Shannon also earned All-Tourney team recognition along with her tournament win.
Ferris State's Taylor Musselman tied for 29th in the field at 235 overall, shooting a 78 in round one followed by a 80 in round two and a 77 in round three,
Meanwhile, Ashley Thomasma came in tied for 31st with a 236 figure on rounds of 82 in the opening 18 holes of play along with an 84 in round two and a final-round 70 total.
The Bulldogs' Lizzie Anderson took a share of 37th in the field with a 238 total for the tournament. She shot a 76 in the first round with a 84 in the second round and a 78 over the final 18 holes of action.
Also, Kylie Walker came in tied for 50th at 242 for the tourney, carding a final round 78 after back-to-back scores of 82 in each of the first two rounds of play.
Finally, Paige Anderson competed as an individual and wound up tied for 80 at 259 for the three rounds. Anderson posted an opening-round score of 87 and came back with an 84 in the middle round followed by an 88 in the last round.
The Bulldogs will close out the fall portion of their 2025-26 schedule on Oct. 20-21 at the Saint Leo Invitational in Dade City, Fla.
