FSU Women's Golf Finishes Fall Season In Ninth Place At Saint Leo Invite

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team finished ninth in the Saint Leo (Fla.) University Invitational as play concluded on Tuesday (Oct. 21) in Dade City, Fla.

The event wrapped up the fall portion of the 2025-26 campaign for the Bulldogs, who are ranked 18th nationally. The tournament field included eight other squads ranked among the country's top 25 overall.

Ferris State concluded the Saint Leo University Invitational in ninth place with a total score of 908 over three rounds. The team improved significantly in the final round, posting a 299, which was their best round of the tournament. Senior Kamryn Shannon was the standout performer for Ferris State, tying for 16th place individually. She shot an even-par 72 in the first round and finished with a 223 (+7) overall after a solid 74 (+2) in the final round.

Kylie Walker also delivered a notable performance, tying for 25th place with a total score of 226 (+10). Her second round was particularly strong with an even-par 72 and she finished with a 77 on Tuesday. FSU's Lizzie Anderson showed resilience, rebounding from an 81 (+9) in the second round to shoot a 73 (+1) in the final round, securing a tie for 35th place.

The Bulldogs' Ashley Thomasma wound up 48th overall with a 234 figure for the 54 holes, carding her best round of the event with a 75 in round three. Meanwhile, Taylor Musselman tied for 53rd at 237 overall, notching a 78 in the last round of action.

The event took place at the Lake Jovita Golf Country Club in Date City. The par 72 layout measured 6,132 total yards.

Ferris State finished among the top nine teams in all six fall tournaments, which included a pair of runner-up finishes and two third-place efforts. FSU will resume its competition in the spring.
