Ferris State Women's Golf Opens Action In NCAA D2 National Championships On Tuesday

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's golf team will open up action in the 2026 NCAA Division II National Championships on Tuesday (May 12) as play gets underway at the PGA National Golf Course in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

The Bulldogs, who placed third overall last week in the NCAA D2 East Regional to advance to the national championships, will be among 18 competing teams vying for the national championship. Eight individuals will also take part in the event.

The D2 National Championships are being hosted by Palm Beach Atlantic University and the Palm Beach Sports Commission. The field includes the top five teams from the Central Region, the top four teams from the East Region along with the top four teams in the South Region and the top five teams in the West Region. There will be a total of 98 golfers in the field.

Along with FSU, the East Region will be represented by Findlay, Grand Valley State and Missouri-St. Louis.

Each team will compete in 54 holes of play with a round of 18 each day from Tuesday thru Thursday. The top eight teams in the field will then advance to the head-to-head match play quarterfinals on Friday morning with the semifinals slated for Friday afternoon and the championship match scheduled for Saturday.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to hit the tee for round one on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. (ET) and the lineup will feature Taylor Musselman, Kylie Walker, Ashley Thomasma, Lizzie Anderson and Kamryn Shannon.

This year's trip to the national championship finals represents FSU's 11th in school history and second in a row. Last year, the Bulldogs made their first appearance in the national championships in 16 years dating back to 2009. FSU placed 17th overall a season ago at the national championships.
