Challenging Spring Schedule To Prepare Ferris State Soccer For Fall 2015 Season
Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's soccer program and third-year head coach Andy McCaslin have announced several spring dates in which the Bulldogs will compete over the course of the next month.
The Bulldogs will open their spring campaign and a challenging slate at home against Spring Arbor on March 21. FSU will also host Saint Francis on April 11.
Ferris State will then hit the road for four road dates as FSU visits Sienna Heights on April 12 and Hope College on April 17. The Bulldogs will play a pair of outings on April 25 in Grand Rapids against West Michigan foes Aquinas and Calvin.
Finally, FSU wraps up the spring versus the Haitian U20 National Team on April 26 in Big Rapids.
"These spring games will help us prepare for the fall season," said McCaslin. "Again this year, we've scheduled some difficult opponents who will certainly test us in a variety of ways."
Per NCAA regulations, no official results will be posted or distributed from the spring competition.
Ferris State advanced to the GLIAC Postseason Tournament for the fifth-straight year in 2014, which represents the best stretch in school history. FSU has reached the league semifinals twice in the last three years and the Bulldogs have also ranked among the nation's top performers academically in the classroom.
A large bulk of the Bulldog roster from last fall will return with the addition of seven prep signees to help further bolster an ever-improving Bulldog lineup and offset the loss of four seniors from last fall.
The Bulldogs will begin official preparations for the fall campaign when preseason practice begins in August. The 2015 season will represent Ferris State's 17th season of intercollegiate competition.
