Ferris State's Korinne Ihrke Tabbed As GLIAC Soccer Defensive Player Of The Week
Big Rapids, Mich. - Sophomore goalkeeper Korinne Ihrke (Oxford) has been chosen as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Ihrke tallied her fifth shutout of the season on Sunday as the Bulldogs scored an impressive 2-0 road win over second-place Saginaw Valley State in conference play.
In the victory, she made seven saves while playing all 90 minutes in net for FSU, which secured a quarterfinal-round home game for the conference tournament with the victory.
To date this year, Ihrke has appeared in all 16 contests for Ferris State, allowing only 14 goals for a 0.88 goals against average. She's totaled 64 saves for a .821 save percentage and owns a 5-4-6 mark in net this campaign.
The Bulldogs will conclude the regular season with two matches at home next weekend. First, Parkside comes to Big Rapids Thursday (Nov. 6) for a 1 p.m. (ET) start. FSU's regular season finale is set for Saturday (Nov. 8) at 1 p.m. (ET) against Roosevelt. Both games will be streamed live on FloCollege.
