Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis team got back on track in a big way on Saturday (Oct. 5) as the Bulldogs shutout Davenport 7-0 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play on the road in Grand Rapids.
FSU improved to 3-1 both overall and in league action with the win.
The Bulldogs took advantage early as Davenport utilized only four players in the match and had to default at both the third doubles spot and the bottom two singles flights.
Ferris State earned wins at each of the first two doubles positions by 6-3 and 6-1 scores at the first and second flights, respectively, to pick up the first point of the match.
In singles action, the Bulldogs then swept Davenport at the first thru fourth flights with all four matches determined in straight-sets.
Ferris State will wrap up its weekend road trip by visiting Purdue Northwest on Sunday (Oct. 6) for a 10 a.m. (ET) league match.
