Women's Tennis Drops Non-League Tilt At NCAA D1 Western Michigan

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis squad suffered a 7-0 non-league setback at NCAA Division I Western Michigan on Friday (Feb. 27) afternoon in Kalamazoo.

The Bulldogs gave up the doubles point and dropped all six singles matches in the contest versus the Broncos.

In doubles play, FSU's top tandem of Ayva Johnstone and Maria Hernandez Ferrer did score a 6-3 victory at the top spot in the lineup.

Additionally, four of the six singles matches went to third sets as FSU battled to the finish.

Ferris State dropped to 6-2 overall this year with the setback.

The Bulldogs will open their annual spring break trip on Sunday, March 8, as they square off against Florida Southern starting at 12 p.m. (ET) in the Sunshine State.
