Ferris State Women's Tennis Falls In NCAA D2 Midwest Region Final

Big Rapids, Mich. - The Ferris State University women's tennis squad had its season come to an end on Saturday (May 9) as the Bulldogs fell 4-0 to host Findlay in the Midwest Region final in Ohio.

The Bulldogs, who had beat Rockhurst by a 4-2 score on Friday in the opening round for their first NCAA Tournament victory in 15 years, could not duplicate the feat versus the Oilers as UF came away with the win to advance to the D2 National Championships.

Ferris State dropped the doubles point as the Oilers claimed wins of 6-2 and 6-1 at the first and second spots in the lineup, respectively.

In singles action, the Oilers earned wins at two, four and six singles to compete the match.

Findlay improved to 21-1 overall this year by virtue of the win while the Bulldogs finished the season with a 14-8 overall record.

Along with earning an NCAA Tournament victory, the Bulldogs also finished as the runner-up in both Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Regular Season and Tournament competition this year.
