Big Rapids, Mich. - The nationally-ranked Ferris State University women's volleyball team swept the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals in Friday (Nov. 3) evening action at the Ewigleben Sports Arena in Big Rapids, Mich.
In the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (GLIAC) contest, the Bulldogs picked up the momentum as the match progressed a claimed a victory via scores of 25-21, 25-18 and 25-16.
Sophomore setter Maeve Grimes tallied 36 assists in the match to go with six digs.
Meanwhile, senior libero Lauren Reminga had 13 digs for the evening after being honored prior to the contest for recently registering her 1,000th career dig. Junior outside hitter Katie Placek had eight digs and four kills in the winning effort.
The Bulldogs totaled 43 kills with a .313 hitting percentage and netted 41 assists, 43 digs, four total blocks and three aces.
On the flip side, the Cardinals compiled 30 kills with a .090 hitting figure and finished with 29 assists, 36 digs, five total blocks and three aces.
With the victory, the Bulldogs improved to 18-6 overall and held onto first place overall in the GLIAC with an 11-2 league mark.
Ferris State plays its final regular-season home match on Saturday (Nov. 4) versus Lake Superior State starting at 3 p.m. (ET) inside the Ewigleben Sports Arena.
Saturday's match will also be Senior Day with the Bulldogs slated to honor five seniors prior to the contest, including Reminga, Buckley, Kronner, middle hitter Nicole Malouhos and right-side hitter Hannah Guy.
