Regional Champion Ferris State Volleyball Adds Transfer Kennedi Brass
Big Rapids, Mich. - Two-Time defending NCAA Division II Midwest Region Champion Ferris State University has announced the addition of transfer Kennedi Brass to the Bulldog volleyball program.
Brass, who joined FSU at the semester break, is a defensive specialist/libero from Minooka Community High School in Shorewood, Ill., who played this past fall for fellow Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) member Purdue Northwest.
"We are super excited to have Kennedi join our team," said FSU head coach Tia Brandel-Wilhelm. "She is a dynamic athlete, a fierce competitor and she has a strong idea of what it takes to be successful in NCAA Division II volleyball."
A 2024 high school graduate, Brass played in every match for the Pride over the past two seasons, appearing in 27 contests in 2024 along with 26 in 2025. She ranked eighth in the GLIAC this past fall in service aces, averaging .36 per set. In addition, she posted the school's 10th-best all-time seasonal total with 32 aces in 2025 and had a career 1.9 digs per set average over her two seasons.
On the prep level, Brass earned her team's class award for most digs and guided her squad to a regional championship in 2023.
Ferris State, which compiled a 27-8 overall this year, made its second consecutive NCAA D2 Elite Eight appearance and the fifth in program history. FSU also advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament for the 29th time in program history, including the 14th consecutive year, while also capturing the GLIAC Regular Season Championship this past fall.
