The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC)
honored 48 Ferris State University student-athletes on its all-academic and all-academic excellence teams for the
recently-completed 2011 spring sports season.
Overall, a total in excess of 675 student-athletes from the
conference's member institutions were honored in the following
sports -- men's outdoor track, women's outdoor track, men's
golf, women's golf, softball, men's tennis along with
baseball.
To be eligible for GLIAC All-Academic recognition, a
student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of
3.0-3.49, on a 4.0 scale, and must not be a freshman or first-year
transfer.
The GLIAC All-Academic Excellence teams consist of those
individuals recording a 3.5 grade point average or higher.
Twenty three of FSU's 48 honorees earned GLIAC
All-Academic Excellence laurels while the other 25
claimed GLIAC All-Academic recognition.
Overall, the conference placed 681 individuals on the
all-academic teams with 340 attaining all-academic
excellence kudos.
