Record Month For FerrisStateBulldogs.com
Big Rapids, Mich. - The outstanding success of several Ferris
State University teams helped make the month of April a
record-breaking month for the Bulldogs' official
athletics website at www.FerrisStatebulldogs.com.
Last month, a record 213,462 visits were made to the Bulldogs'
online home and more than 13 million hits were made
(13,585,246). Additionally, over one million pages were
accessed
(1,164,182).
In addition to the monthly mark,
FerrisStateBulldogs.com also had its three most
visited days on record. An all-time best 21,006 fans
visited the site on April 7 when the Bulldog Hockey team
squared off against Boston College in the national championship
game at the NCAA Division I Frozen Four. The second-best
figure of 17,052 came for the national semifinals on April
5 while 11,922 visited the site the day between the two
contests on April 6.
During the month of April, the 213,462 unique visits came from 144
different countries, which included 87% from the United States
along with nearly five percent from Canada. Visitors came from
nearly every corner of the globe, including more than 28,000 from
China and over 20,000 from Japan among others.
FSU's monthly average of 7,115 visits per day also established a
new record as did the 18,868 hits per hour and 454,841 hits
per day. While the number of visits peaked during the
three days surrounding the Frozen Four, the site still managed to
attract more than 5,000 visitors for 28 of the 30 days during
the month of April.
Since its launch in August of 2009, the site has served more than
three million visitors from all 50 states and nearly every
country around the world. Those visitors have
combined for nearly 180 million hits thru the end of April.
Visitors in the United States account for more than 96 percent
of all site traffic followed by Canada at roughly two
percent.
The past four months from January to April have been the four most
visited months on record for
FerrisStateBulldogs.com with more than 700,000
unique visits over the span. FSU has recorded more than
100,000 unique visits per month eight consecutive months to date
since the start of the 2011-12 athletics season in
September.
The FSU Athletics Website, which is maintained by the Ferris
Athletics Communications Office, had been hosted on-campus
since its original site inception in the mid-1990's prior to
the launch of FerrisStateBulldogs.com in
conjunction with PrestoSports.
The school's official website includes all the latest news,
scores, results and more covering each of FSU's 15 varsity
athletics programs. It is updated on a daily basis
and also offers video, audio, photos, blogs and more for fans
interested in keeping up to date with all the action.
