Info About Ferris State Cheerleading
Members of the Ferris State University Cheerleading program support the intercollegiate athletics & the Ferris State University by leading cheers & raising the level of fan support for the University athletic teams. In addition, the FSU Cheer Team serves as ambassadors of the University. The experience from being a part of this program not only channel enthusiasm in a constructive and beneficial manner, but will give participants a sense of pride and accomplishment in being a part of a group that is hard-working and respected.
The Ferris Cheer Team is considered a varsity sport on campus and must follow the eligibility requirements set up by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). To tryout and remain on the team, individuals must have a 2.0 GPA and have maintained 12 credit hours per semester.
The team selection process is held once per year in the spring. Team members are selected based on skill, academic performance and potential of contribution. There is more detailed information regarding requirements for tryouts located on this website under "tryout information".
